Sweden
Sweden, a Socialist Scandinavian country, is slightly removed from the mass migration of people to the shores of Europe, due to its location. Sweden has components that target the legal and cultural transition from refuge to a Swedish citizen but the program is limited.
In 2017, there was an investigation by the Swedish government into the legal asylum roads titled "Legal roads in order to apply for asylum in EU". It acknowledged that the current system of the European Union and its members had "substantial structural weaknesses and shortcomings"that was shown during this current refugee crisis.

First, UNHCR makes an assessment of which refugees should be offered resettlement. They present individual refugees or groups of refugees to countries that have resettlement programmes. After this, the respective countries investigate whether the grounds for protection that have been presented for the refugees are consistent with the countries’ laws, and with the national conditions that have been established for Reception of resettled refugees. Around 95% of those whose cases are examined are granted permanent residence permits.
The Swedish Migration Agency prepares Sweden’s municipalities to receive refugees and makes arrangements for their travel to Sweden. So-called "Cultural Orientation Program", which is run by staff from the Migration Agency and from a Swedish municipality, provide with information to select refugees about the journey, and life in Sweden, before they depart.

The Swedish Migration Agency or a Swedish Embassy issues an exit permit or emergency alien’s passport, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) makes travel arrangements for the selected refugee. A representative from a Swedish Municipality will meet the refugee at the airport. The municipality will offer accommodation for the refugee, and then integration work can begin. Persons who are granted asylum in Sweden receive financial support from the state during the first two years, on the condition that they follow the establishment plan that they have made together with the Swedish Public Employment Service. During this time, they receive instruction in Swedish, public service information, and assistance in finding a job and supporting themselves.
